National Contest Scholarships

Complete the online application. You will need to know your cumulative GPA [on a 4.0 scale], and your SAT or ACT scores, if available. You should be prepared to list the scholarships for which you would like to be considered. The following questions must be answered in essay form as part of the application for each scholarship:
  • What is your GPA?
  • What is your SAT or ACT score?
  • Please list any relevant extracurricular activities
  • Why do you want this scholarship?
  • How do you think participation in National History Day has prepared you for a successful college career at the university you are applying for? (250-500 words)
  • Why are you interested in attending this university?
  • Why do you think it is important to study history? (1-2 paragraphs)

At the bottom of the form, you will be asked to agree with the statement, "I hereby certify that the above statements are true."  Print the essay questions and send them along with an official copy of your transcripts and cover letter with your name, address, telephone and school. YOU MUST SEND A TRANSCRIPT IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP. Send the package of your scholarship materials to:
