"National History Night”at the
National Museum of American History Behring Center
WHEN: 6:00 – 8:30 PM on Wednesday, June 13th

WHO: All NHD participants, family and friends are invited to this special NHD event!
WHAT: The entire museum will be available to us for the evening. Chat with museum staff, curators, special guests and of course fellow NHD students, teachers, parents and coordinators. Meet famous historical figures. Watch presentations in the museum's theater. Browse the student exhibits from each NHD affiliate on display throughout the building.
HOW TO GET THERE: Metro is strongly recommended. Take the Green line from the College Park-U of MD to L’Enfant Plaza, where you can transfer to the Blue or Orange line. Exit at either the Smithsonian or Federal Triangle Stations, both of which are within easy walking distance of the museum. The museum is located on the National Mall at 14th Street and Constitution Avenue, N.W. Visit Metro's website for more details: http://www.wmata.com.
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
- Tickets or buttons are NOT required for entry.
- The event begins at 6:00 PM, but early arrival is encouraged to avoid long lines. The museum has entrances at both the Mall side (Madison Ave.) and the opposite side (Constitution Ave.).
- All bags will be searched by museum security. Guests are encouraged to leave bags in the dorms/hotels. Doing so will greatly speed up entry into the musuem.
- The Museum’s cafes will be open throughout the event, and dinner will be available for purchase. The Stars and Stripes Café (on the Lower Level) has a full menu, Constitution Café (Constitution Avenue entrance) has sandwiches, salads, and hand-dipped ice cream, and outdoor food carts ( on the Mall terrace) serve light fare and grilled food. There will be dessert food trucks at the Constitution Avenue entrance and there are dozens of restaurants in the area. Food may not be brought into the museum.
